Teresa Kok: Phang prompted by bad feng shui to sell bungalow

PETALING JAYA: Seputeh DAP MP Teresa Kok claimed it was probably “bad feng shui” which prompted businesswoman Phang Li Koon to sell her bungalow at below market value to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

Stung by criticism over her earlier remark that Lim had obtained the property due to “bad feng shui”, Kok insisted she was misquoted in press reports on her speech at the “Save Malaysia” congress.

In a statement to The Star on Sunday, Kok said: “Ms Phang was willing to sell the house to Lim because ever since he moved in, there had been a lot of protests, controversies, and even a mock funeral procession against Lim.

“The protestors in Penang like to hold protests outside Lim’s house, unlike in Selangor where protestors protest outside the state government’s building.”

Kok was earlier quoted as saying that Lim obtained the Jalan Pinhorn property at below market value due to “bad feng shui”.

The Penang Chief Minister had been renting the property from Phang before buying it for RM2.8mil.
